Chocolate Ganache
Standard Ganache Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream
(You can also use canned coconut milk for a dairy-free version.)
Directions
Gently warm the cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
Place the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
Pour the warm cream over the chocolate and let it sit for about a minute to soften.
Whisk gently until smooth and fully combined.
Pour over your desired dessert and enjoy.
Storage: Keep at room temperature for 1–2 days.
Infusing the Cream (Optional)
Infusing the cream is a simple way to add depth and complexity to your ganache.
Flavor Ideas
Tea (chamomile, English breakfast, Earl Grey)
Rose or lavender
2 tsp peppermint, almond, orange, or lemon extract
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp miso paste
1 vanilla bean pod, seeds scraped
Zest of 1 lemon (avoid adding juice, as it can cause curdling)
Directions
Bring the cream to a gentle simmer, then add your ingredient of choice.
Cover and let steep for at least 15 minutes (longer for a stronger flavor).
Strain out any solids (tea, vanilla pod, etc.).
Reheat the infused cream to a simmer before pouring over the chocolate.
Additional Flavor Add-Ins (After Ganache is Made)
2 tsp cinnamon
2–3 tablespoons liqueur or spirits: Some favorites: Baileys, Amaretto, Kahlúa, rum, Malibu, Chambord
Adjust the amount depending on your desired intensity
If adding alcohol, increase the chocolate by about ¼ cup to maintain the proper consistency
Prepare the ganache with the extra chocolate, then stir in the liqueur once the mixture is combined and slightly cooled
