Chocolate Ganache

Standard Ganache Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
(You can also use canned coconut milk for a dairy-free version.)

Directions

  1. Gently warm the cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.

  2. Place the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.

  3. Pour the warm cream over the chocolate and let it sit for about a minute to soften.

  4. Whisk gently until smooth and fully combined.

  5. Pour over your desired dessert and enjoy.

Storage: Keep at room temperature for 1–2 days.

Infusing the Cream (Optional)

Infusing the cream is a simple way to add depth and complexity to your ganache.

Flavor Ideas

  • Tea (chamomile, English breakfast, Earl Grey)

  • Rose or lavender

  • 2 tsp peppermint, almond, orange, or lemon extract

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 2 tsp miso paste

  • 1 vanilla bean pod, seeds scraped

  • Zest of 1 lemon (avoid adding juice, as it can cause curdling)

Directions

  1. Bring the cream to a gentle simmer, then add your ingredient of choice.

  2. Cover and let steep for at least 15 minutes (longer for a stronger flavor).

  3. Strain out any solids (tea, vanilla pod, etc.).

  4. Reheat the infused cream to a simmer before pouring over the chocolate.

Additional Flavor Add-Ins (After Ganache is Made)

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 2–3 tablespoons liqueur or spirits: Some favorites: Baileys, Amaretto, Kahlúa, rum, Malibu, Chambord

    • Adjust the amount depending on your desired intensity

    • If adding alcohol, increase the chocolate by about ¼ cup to maintain the proper consistency

    • Prepare the ganache with the extra chocolate, then stir in the liqueur once the mixture is combined and slightly cooled
