Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients
1 package cream cheese, room temperature / 227 grams
½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
Pinch of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 ½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 to 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Directions
Using a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, or a bowl with a hand whisk, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
Add the salt and vanilla extract, then beat again until combined.
Slowly incorporate the sifted powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream, then continue adding more as needed until you reach your desired consistency.
